Since mid-2010, Martin Palovic has been a research associate at the Bremer Energie Institut, concentrating primarily on issues related to natural gas infrastructure and markets. In October 2011, he also began pursuing a PhD in economics at Jacobs University, where he evaluates the role of the natural gas sector in the integration of renewable energies. He holds a BA in economics and political science from Jacobs University and was honoured with the Max Kaase Fellowship, an achievement scholarship bestowed on outstanding Bachelor’s students continuing their MA studies at Jacobs University. Palovic’s MA thesis explored the topic of "white certificate" (or energy efficiency trading) schemes and their interactions with European emissions trading. Prior to his current position, Martin Palovic was employed at the Bremer Energie Institut as a student assistant working on various projects and reports for the energy sector, including the development of concepts for energy and climate protection, analysis of power supplies for the northern German region, and geopolitical evaluation of the Nabucco pipeline.
