Biography

Nele Friedrichsen is an industrial engineer by training holding a degree in energy and environmental management from the University of Flensburg. From 2007 - 2011 she was a PhD student of economics at Jacobs University Bremen. Since 2010 she is research associate at the Bremer Energie Institut investigating the coordination between development of electricity networks and generation. The implications of unbundling on vertical governance in the electricity system and arrangements to safeguard efficient coordination are at the centre of her research interest. She is further working in the field of sustainable energy policy, smart grids, network tariffs, and regulation.
