New Project "Innovative Regulation for Intelligent Networks"


The newly started project "Innovative Regulation for Intelligent Networks" is a cooperative researchproject of the Bremer Energie Institut, the Öko-Institut Freiburg, WIK Bad Honnef and the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. It is financed and supported by the 5th Energy research programme of the German federal government.

The research project deals with incentive structures to effectively and efficiently support the development towards smart grids in energy networks. Aspects that are investigated are advancements to incentive regulation, intelligent network pricing, and the legal framework.
