Bremer Energie Institut supports build up of international competence for a sustainable energy supply

By the project “Transfer Renewable Energy and Efficiency (TREE)” the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety supports the international transfer of knowledge regarding energy efficiency and renewable energies into developing countries. In the context of the mentioned project the Renewables Acadamy (RENAC) in berlin holds several one-week seminars for decision-makers from developing countries, starting 2009. The decision-makers will get an overview of renewable energy and energy efficiency measures as well as necessary economic and political framing conditions for the further development of efficient technologies. Dr. Bernd Eikmeier, Dr. Jürgen Gabriel and Dr. Karin Jahn were part of the consultancy-team. In their “Introduction to Energy Economics” they teach stipendiaries the economic aspects of energy supply. This knowledge forms the foundation to implement crucial framing conditions to adopt renewable energy and energy efficiency measures.
