Thinking Today for Tomorrow
The Bremer Energie Institut (BEI) is a scientific institute. Founded in 1990 on an initiative from the Bremen Energy Advisory Council (Bremer Energiebeirat) of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. Formally, the institute is part of the Verein zur Förderung der wissenschaftlichen Forschung (VFwF e.V.) in Bremen. The BEI cooperates with the University of Bremen as well as the Jacobs University.
The BEI does research and advises on issues concerning energy economics and energy politics. This professional consultant scientifically presents the latest sustainable energy supply problems from varying perspectives.
The research focus of the BEI lies in between the triangle of energy political goals named: affordability, sustainability and security of supply.

Our clients include the EU-Commission, Federal Ministries, and organizations as well as companies such as energy supply companies.
